Hello, I am Foteini.
I am a Science Operations Scientist for ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) space mission. I support the scientists who are in charge of the instrumentation onboard the spacecraft to plan their observations in a way that maximizes the scientific return of the mission.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
In parallel to my science operations tasks, I do research. I study the magnetic field generated by the magnetized rocky part of terrestrial bodies. For this, I use spacecraft and near-surface magnetic field measurements, and I conduct laboratory measurements on magnetized samples. The amazing property of rocks to acquire and retain magnetization makes this magnetic field signal a precious window into the present and past state of terrestrial planets.
